LG range recall — here is what every homeowner should know.

LG electric range recall: self-clean oven door lock failure — here’s what you need to know.

Date: October 2018

Affected Models: Approximately 28,000 LG freestanding and slide-in electric ranges manufactured between January 2017 and March 2018. Models include LRE3193ST, LRE3194ST, LSE4613ST, and related model numbers.

Issue: During the self-clean cycle, the oven door lock mechanism can fail to engage properly, allowing the door to be opened while the oven cavity is at extremely high temperatures (approximately 900°F). This poses a severe burn hazard, especially to children and pets. LG received 4 reports of door lock failures during self-clean cycles.

Consumer Action: Do not use the self-clean function until the repair has been completed. Normal oven operation is not affected. Contact LG for a free door lock assembly replacement.

Remedy: Free replacement door lock assembly with improved engagement mechanism. Contact LG at 1-800-243-0000.
