LG Range Recall: Gas Leak and Fire Hazard (2011–2013 Models)

LG range recall: gas leak and fire hazard (2011–2013 models) — here’s what you need to know.

Date: April 2014

CPSC Recall Number: 14-153

Affected Models: Approximately 8,500 LG freestanding gas ranges, models LRG3091ST, LRG3093ST, LRG3095ST, LRG3097ST manufactured between September 2011 and June 2013.

Issue: The oven burner igniter in affected ranges can overheat and crack, potentially releasing gas into the oven cavity. This creates a risk of gas leak and fire hazard. LG received 3 reports of igniters cracking, though no injuries were reported.

Consumer Action: Stop using the oven function immediately (cooktop burners are not affected). Contact LG for a free replacement igniter installed by an authorized technician.

Remedy: Free oven igniter replacement. Contact LG at 1-800-243-0000 or visit lg.com/us/support.
