Affected Models: Approximately 45,000 LG electric dryers manufactured between 2010 and 2012. Models DLEX5101V, DLEX5101W, DLGX5102V, DLGX5102W, and related model numbers.

Issue: The heating element assembly can overheat due to a manufacturing defect in the heating coil support, creating a fire risk. The excessive heat can ignite lint accumulated in the dryer cabinet. LG received 6 reports of fire or smoke, resulting in property damage but no injuries.

Consumer Action: Stop using the affected dryer immediately and contact LG for a free repair. Do not use the dryer until it has been inspected and repaired by an authorized technician.

Remedy: Free replacement of the heating element assembly by an LG-authorized technician. Contact LG at 1-800-243-0000.
