LG cooktop recall: burner knob ignition risk (select 2019 models) — here’s what you need to know.
Date: September 2019
Affected Models: Approximately 18,000 LG gas cooktops and slide-in gas ranges, manufactured between January 2019 and June 2019. Models include LSCG366ST, LSCG367ST, and related model numbers.
Issue: The front-mounted control knobs can be inadvertently turned on by contact from people, pets, or objects, causing unattended gas release and potential fire hazard. The knob design lacks sufficient resistance to prevent accidental activation.
Consumer Action: When not in use, remove the control knobs and store them in a safe location, or use the child lock feature if available. Contact LG for free replacement knobs with improved resistance.
Remedy: Free replacement knobs with improved detent mechanism that requires intentional push-and-turn to activate. Contact LG at 1-800-243-0000.
